Disclosure: I was provided product from Impressions Shop to create a post for my Instagram account, I am posting this DIY tutorial – because it’s easy and fun. All opinions of this products are my own.
I am so excited to share a fun tutorial of “How to Glitter a Wall Sign” that I was provided by Impressions Shop.
I got the 24-inch “Create” sign to put in my new studio! Here are the details on the sign:
The “Create” sign comes in two size options:
24” wide (approximately 8” high) are $25
36” wide (approximately 12” high) are $40
Each word cutout comes UNFINISHED with raw medium density fibreboard, ready to be customized to your taste and your décor with paint, glitter or stain of your choice. The hard part will be deciding which color to use! Each word cutout is ¼” thick – sturdy and lightweight – a great option for hanging on walls. Impressions Shop recommends using command strips to hang your product however, command strips are NOT included. I actually just nailed 3 small nails into the wall to hang my wall sign.
To make my Glittered Wall Sign I used the following supplies:
- Pink craft paint
- Paint brush
- Pink glitter (I used a mixture of Crafty Chica glitter and Tulip glitter)
- Aleene’s Tacky Adhesive Spray
Step 1: Put the wall sign on a surface that you can paint on – I used the cardboard that my sign was delivered with. Paint the sign completely and make sure to get the sides/edges painted too – when you hang it you want it to look awesome!
Step 2: One letter at a time you should spray the sign with Aleene’s Tacky Adhesive Spray and then add glitter, be sure to carefully shake the excess glitter off each time (you can re-use it for the remaining letters).
Step 3: Once your sign is fully glittered, you should let it set for about 1-2 hours so the glue can dry. The glue will dry clear. After it is dry, you can then hang it. I used 3 small nails to hang my wall sign.
